IGC - Oeiras Lab

The Neurobiology of action lab is located in the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC). The IGC is located in the campus of Oeiras, on the Tagus bank, some 20km from Lisbon.

The campus includes other basic and applied research institutions in biology, biotechnology and chemistry (the Institute for Chemical and Biological Technology (ITQB) of the New University of Lisbon, the Institute for Experimental Biology and Technology (IBET), and the National Agronomical Station (EAN), of the Ministry for Agriculture) with complementary interests and competences: protein structure and design, synthesis and theory of chemicals with biological interest, molecular microbiology, plant biotechnology, fermentation, downstream processing, etc).

Getting Here

The IGC is located in the campus of Oeiras, on the Tagus bank, some 20km from Lisbon.

Arrival by Air

On arrival at the Lisbon airport, please go to the Visitors and Convention Bureau, where there is a Taxi Voucher service. There you obtain a taxi without queuing. The price of this service is approximately 30 Euros for the trip Airport-Oeiras.
Alternatively you can queue for a taxi from the taxi rank immediately outside the arrivals section.

Bus - Train

There is a shuttle bus service from the Lisbon airport to CAIS DO SODRE which costs around 2 Euros. From Cais do Sodré all trains stop at Oeiras, where this Institute is located.
Instruction to get from Oeiras train station to the IGC: leave the station on the side where a gas station (GALP) is located. Keeping to the right, travers this gas station, and walk down the road until arrival at a set of traffic lights. Here, turn left again, cross over the pedestrian crossing and the IGC is the protected area immediately after a pink house on the corner (This route takes around 3 minutes).
